Departing from Rome, we set off to discover the captivating civilization that left such an indelible mark on the Romans. From them, they learned the divinatory art of the “haruspices”, the practice of cremation and construction techniques.
This people, who founded the oldest cities on the Italian peninsula, left us numerous necropolises. This civilization, marked by the pleasures of banqueting and a powerful faith populated by strange gods, also left its mark on the Renaissance with the creation of the extraordinary “Bosco Sacro” in Bomarzo. This region, on the borders of the Grand Duché of Tuscany and the Papal Lands, is home to numerous fortified villages perched on incredible cliffs, such as Pitigliano and Sorano, all classified as “Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages”.

This holiday takes you on some of the region’s most beautiful hikes, through hidden valleys to the Unesco World Heritage site of Tarquinia. It’s also a great opportunity to round your vacation off with a few days in Rome.

From 2 to 5 hours walking per day, altitude difference between 200 m and 500 m. A good level of physical fitness is required. NO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES.

Note : As most Etruscan sites are located in steep, rocky areas, the use of sticks and good footwear is highly recommended.
