The town of Le Puy en Velay is the starting point for the legendary Way of Puy, France’s most popular pilgrimage route. A gentle 6-day walk takes you to Aumont-Aubrac.
Starting with Conques and its Romanesque basilica, this 7-day itinerary begins at the Puy en Velay cathedral, a magnificent synthesis of Romanesque, Oriental and Moorish styles.
Through the volcanic and granite landscapes of the Massif-Central, with its forests, meadows, and scattered hamlets, the walker arrives on the Aubrac, a vast green plateau and the Mecca of the pilgrims’ route.
A splendid first section, rich in scenery, in the unique atmosphere of the Road to Compostela. All the way to the village of Aumont-Aubrac.
